All the poor little WRT54G needed was a little...
A friend recently complained to me that his linksys wireless router sucked. It was disconnecting multiple times daily and would need to be restarted. I have to admit I was a little giddy when I learned that it was a WRT54G. He was ready to toss the thing in the garbage so I convinced him to let me try to load linux firmware and see if that would improve its functionality. Of course it turned...

garming streetpilot 340c...RIP 2007
my venerable garmin streetpilot c340 took a spill this weekend and didn’t survive. i sure will miss the little fellow. after the accident i realized how much having the little guy with me in the car has dulled my innate sense of direction as well as my good sense to carry a map when traveling. a quick call to garmin provided me with the knowledge that to have the unit repaired would...

m0n0wall is up an running
IPCOP m0n0wall is up an running. I finally managed to get ipcop up and going on a Hard Drive install. I spent a few frustrating hours dealing with SSH, winSCP, PuTTY, physdiskwrite, and mkflash and a handful of sketchy documentation trying to move things to Compact Flash. I finally just gave up and tried m0n0wall and was up and going in 10 minutes!

dreams of ubuntu
I’d like to get back to Ubuntu. Itunes is all that’s holding me back. Specifically it’s that little check box “remember playback position” The Linux players just don’t have it. Oh and the “skip when shuffling” is also important. VMware comes to mind! SeamlessVirtualization
